Hi George,
I my client is a couple who received examination audit notices for tax years 2006 and 2007. The husband received the irs audit notices and collection notices but never opened and read the notices. Their monies were levied from a third party (investment account) for 2006. He misplaced the notices and I contact the irs for the notices copies and the irs said it will take 60 days for copies. I need the copies to see if they legitmately owe the tax levied. The account was levied 3/1/2010 for 2006 but 2007 is still in collections. What steps should I take to correct this?
